Internatonal Night…

…was last night in the blue caravan!
[written August 16th]
The guy who I met in the washroom turns out to be called Anthony, and his ‘father-in-law’ came back and invited me for a beer. Well, Anthony’s mother, Madeleine, is Portuguese and his dad, Christian, is French/Dutch. His girlfriend, Elly, and her dad, Kalle, are German, and her mother, Bozena, is Polish.
It was a great night, sheltered from the rain, laughing at our languages and inability to speak them. This has reminded me why a journey like this is worth doing!
It didn’t stop raining all night, and I have now packed everything wet again. It is still raining as I set off for a 90km slog to Strasbourg!
