Day 21…

…was another good day of rest. I didn’t manage to find a church to go to so after a good Sunday breakfast I headed to the pool to sit and listen to a sermon and read for a while.

I headed into town and confirmed that is very little more than a leaning tower. Although, along with the cathedral complex it is in, it is very intriguing and beautiful.
I followed a suggested trail through the city, and where Strasbourg was trying too hard Pisa doesn’t make any effort whatsoever, apart from around the tower. There is a lovely wide river running through and there is pretty much nothing along the banks. A very nice bridge was empty, where in Lucerne a couple of benches on a bridge made it an attraction!

Just over halfway through the trail, though, I heard the name of The Lord being sung with joy and after brief investigation I was invited in to have lunch and join the evening service of a Philipino Pentecostal church. What an experience!
I finished the trail in the dusk and found nothing of further note, although a typical Italian city has picturesque streets so it was not unpleasant. Then returned to the campsite for a swim, dinner and pack for tomorrow.
