Below is the equipment I am currently using. There is a kit-list for each of my previous trips in those sections- but it hasn’t changed much.
All as before and as solid as ever.
Never any problems, especially after a service at Birkin’s Cycles.
Giro Indicator Helmet
The red is fading, but still helping me go a bit faster, I think!
Rear: Revolution Adventure Welded Panniers
Good, spacious, waterproof. What more do you need? I got a new bracket to replace one I ripped off and one of the closing clips is gaffer-taped on, but still holds fine and keeps everything dry.
Bar: Altura Dryline Bar Bag
Possibly a bit too big, but water-proof and ideal for keeping the important things to hand whilst cycling; chocolate, music, sandwiches…
The large blue one is great for keeping the clean clothes in, and away from the dirty ones- also helpful for shower trips.
Vango Banshee 300
This is an upgrade! Now I am married we needed a larger tent for our summer camping trips, and it made sense to bring it on this trip for two of us aswell.
Quechua A200 Light
A much less subsancial mat than I have usually taken, but hopefully it will still do the trick. It fits into a pannier which the others didn’t!
Specialized BG Primo SPD Shoes
Last year these ripped along the right hand side, on the last day, but I took them to a good old fashioned cobbler and he fixed them wonderfully.
Big Man’s Tailored Jersey (from USA!!)
Specialized Lycra Shorts
